MMA Combat Card Game

The MMA Combat Card Game is a two-player game that brings the in-cage action of a mixed martial arts fight to your tabletop.

Choose from a number of theme decks, including The Brawler, Tap Out Artist, Muay Thai Specialist, and more - and when you're ready, customize your own deck! The only thing standing between you and greatness is three 5-minute rounds... IF you can last that long!

Gameplay

Step into the cage

Three 5-minute rounds. Five turns each round. Every card you play deals damage, shifts position, or counters your opponent's strategy, and every decision you make gets you closer to victory - or defeat!

Choose your deck

Play begins with a 50-card Stamina Deck. Players draw 6 cards to start. Then you can set aside up to 3 cards, draw that many cards, and shuffle the cards you set aside back into your deck to help shape your opening hand.

Take your turn

At the start of your turn, draw a card. Play Maneuvers and Referee cards in any order, then end your turn. Your opponent may Counter from their hand - or take the Toughness Damage and then absorb the Stamina Damage by placing cards from the top of their deck into their discard pile one at a time. If they overturn an applicable counter, your card stays in play but your turn ends.

Control the fight

Every round begins in the Standing position. Play Maneuver and Referee cards to move the fight position to Clinched, Grounded, or back to Standing - and unlock the moves only available there. Some cards can only be played if the fight is in the correct position. Play to your best strengths, and deny your opponent the advantage.

Survive the round

After rounds two and three, the Recovery Step gives you a choice: reshuffle cards, recover toughness, or draw additional cards. Choose wisely, as it will affect the next round!

Win the fight

Each player starts at 30 Toughness. When your toughness drops to 0, you are knocked out. If neither fighter is knocked out after 3 rounds, count the Victory Points on all cards in play to determine the winner by Judges' Decision!

Unique Game Engine

Toughness - Both Fighters start at 30. When your opponent successfully plays a card, you lose toughness equal to the amount of Toughness Damage on the card. When your Toughness hits zero, you're knocked out - fight over.

Fight Position - Unlike most other card games, cards do not have a "cost" to play. If the card has a listed "fight position" on it - Standing, Clinched, or Grounded - and the game is currently in that position, you can play it! If there is no fight position listed on the card, then it means the card can be played without regard to the position of the fight.

Counters - When your opponent plays a card during their turn, you may play a Counter card from your hand - stopping their turn cold. Can't counter a card from your hand? Taking Stamina Damage still gives you a chance to stop their turn.

Stamina Deck - Your deck is one of your biggest resources. If you didn't counter a card from your hand, you can overturn a counter while taking Stamina Damage to end their turn and start mounting an offensive of your own.
